Why We Organize Around Project Executives, Not Departments
Eleven Western runs four sector teams, each led by a Project Executive who owns the client relationship from pursuit through warranty. Here's why the PX-led model beats the departmental assembly line.

Most general contractors are organized like an assembly line: business development hands off to estimating, estimating hands off to operations, operations hands off to the field, and somewhere in all those handoffs, the promises made at the first meeting quietly evaporate.
Eleven Western is organized differently: four sector teams — Automotive, Grocery, Retail, and Lifestyle — each led by a Project Executive who owns the client relationship from first conversation through warranty.
What a PX actually owns
The PX isn’t a title on an org chart; it’s a single point of accountability. Your PX sits in the estimate review, oversees buyout negotiations, walks the site, and answers the phone when something goes sideways at 6 a.m. Your Project Manager runs the job day to day — including the OAC meetings — while the PX keeps the whole promise: alignment across preconstruction, PM, and field, obstacles removed, commitments monitored, and every escalation owned. There is no “let me check with the team that bid this” — the person accountable for the bid is accountable for the building.
Why sectors, not geography
A grocery remodel in Boise has more in common with a grocery remodel in San Diego than with an auto dealership across the street. Refrigeration sequencing, health-department coordination, night-phasing discipline — these are sector skills that compound with repetition. Our sector teams carry playbooks refined across dozens of similar projects, so store fourteen inherits everything stores one through thirteen learned.
What it means for careers
The PX seat is also the destination at the top of our project-management career track — matched by the Director of Field Operations seat on the field side. Both start from the same base: Submittal Coordinator to Project Engineer, then the fork. See the full dual-track map.
